How your donation will be used

Each and every donation, no matter how large or small, is most gratefully received, helping to provide us with the funds needed to invite the world’s most talented artists to Jaipur and ensure the Festival remains a world-class event each year.

In 2016 your donations played a vital role in bringing over 600 artists from 36 nations to the stages of our beautiful city.

Other ways to make a difference

Play an integral role with the Festival by choosing to donate at the highest level as a Festival Benefactor. Your support can go directly towards our core programming costs or towards a particular area of the Festival programme.

Benefactors

The donations of our Benefactors make a significant impact on the work of the Festival. Depending on their particular area of interest, Benefactors can choose to dedicate their support towards a particular performance or strand of work at the Festival that they are most passionate about. Alternatively we welcome donations towards our general programming costs, enabling us to direct support towards those projects most in need of funds. These donors enjoy unrivalled access to performances and special events. We ask Benefactors for a minimum donation of INR 51,000. If you too have a passion for the arts and would like to make a generous and profound difference to the Festival,

The Director’s Funds

This is our highest level of engagement with the Festival for future development of the Festival and in particular assisting to achieve our longer-term goals in the areas of commissioning, education and theatre.

‘We believe that some areas of the International Festival’s work require strategic longer-term preparation to truly maximise their potential. In order to allow such future planning I have introduced three new funds – the JRM Commissioning Fund, the JRM Theatre Development Fund and the JRM Education Fund. I am excited to work with our donors over the coming years to explore together what more the Festival can achieve in these areas.’

Leave a legacy

Your Gift to Future Audiences

Supporting the Jairangam Festival in your will.

As a charity we rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters to enable this world-class cultural event to take place each year. For some, the best way to make a contribution is by leaving a gift in their will, and these gifts are ever increasingly vital in helping to safeguard the Festival’s future.

By having a valid and up to date will in place you can ensure that your nearest and dearest are provided for, as well as helping the causes that are close to your heart. Help make a difference to tomorrow’s audiences by pledging your support to Jairangam today. Further information is available below or by downloading a copy of our legacy information sheet.

How your gift will be used

Gifts received can either go towards the core programming costs of the International Festival, can be dedicated to supporting a particular artist or company attending the Festival, or your gift could be invested in our Endowment Fund, which provides a major source of funding for special projects at the Festival. Every gift, no matter how large or small, will make a difference to the future of theFestival.

If you are considering leaving a gift in your will to the Festival, please consider how you wish your gift to be used:

Jairangam International Festival Society

If you would like the Festival to use your gift within the first year or two following its receipt please instruct your solicitor to dedicate funds directly to the Festival Society. Gifts made to the Festival Society can either help us cover the Festival’s core programming costs or alternatively you may wish to dedicate your support towards a particular area of the Festival’s programme that you are passionate about you. We ask that you contact us so that we can help ensure your gift will be allocated as you wish.

Jairangam International Festival Endowment Fund

If you would prefer to make a gift for perpetuity, then you should instruct that your will should deposit funds with the Festival Endowment Fund. The Festival Endowment Fund is a major source of funding for the Festival, and contributions to the Fund help secure the future of the Festival for years to come. The Endowment Fund is set up with the vision to create a stable and long-term source of funding for the Festival. The objective is to create a capital fund, the income from which could be applied by the Trustees to support Festival Directors into the future to present special projects, including new and less familiar work, which it might not otherwise be possible to programme.

Types of legacy

Below you can find out more information about the different types of legacy available to you when writing your will.

Residual legacy

A residual legacy is a gift of the remainder of your estate, or a percentage of the remainder, after all other gifts and costs have been made. Even a small percentage of the residue could benefit the Festival: residuary legacies keep up with inflation and can help your gift go further as the value of your estate increases, so too does your gift. For these reasons, residual gifts are particularly appreciated.

Pecuniary legacy

A pecuniary legacy is a specific sum of money left to the Festival. Please remember the impact that inflation may have on the value of this gift.

Specific legacy

A specific legacy is an item, for example your home, or stocks and shares.

Revisionary legacy / Life interest

A revisionary legacy / life interest – you can choose to leave a gift to family and friends during their lifetime. Upon their death the legacy would then be reverted to someone else or to a charity.

Conditional legacy

A conditional legacy would name the Festival as a beneficiary should any or all of your other named beneficiaries die before you.

Remember

When including a gift to the Festival in your will, as well as including the charity number and name, please also include the International Festival’s registered address: The Jairangam Hub, 2/161, Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur 302004

Using a Codicil

If you already have a will and wish to add a gift to the Festival, this can be done using a codicil. A codicil need not change the terms of your current will, it can simply add a new instruction. Please make sure you store the codicil with your original will.

Alternatively, please request our pledge form. It is not binding in any way, but can help us plan for the future. We appreciate that your will is a very personal matter and that some people would prefer not to disclose details. Please be assured that any information you provide will be treated with respect and in the utmost confidence.

Every gift, no matter how large or small, will make a difference to the future of the Festival. If you are considering remembering the Festival in your will – thank you.
